We went to Priddy Folk Festival in June 2004

It rained

Actually, it was a very good festival. We all enjoyed it very much (except for Brian, who Doesn't. Do. Tents.) It had a good line-up (including the always-hilarious Les Barker), appreciative audiences, and a great atmosphere.

Did I mention that it rained?

We also had the excitement of a sloping campsite, two cockerels involved in a loud contest to see who was alpha male, mud, and worms.

It also rained.

Priddy campsite

A general view of the campsite. The sky is glowering at us, but I don't think it was actually raining at this point.
Brian very muddy

Here is Brian after pushing the Squire's camper van up the campsite. It was the last vehicle to be allowed onto the site for the whole weekend.
shoes used as coasters

Okay, so a picture of some old shoes isn't too exciting, but this is the lengths we were reduced to by the sloping campsite. Anything put down on the ground fell over.
Miserable and drinking in the tent

On the first night, all the early arrivals ended up in my tent, and drank all the drink we'd bought for the whole weekend. No-one could leave because of the rain, thunder, hail, volcanoes etc. Here are two energetic members of Baker's Dozen, pretending to be more miserable than they really are.
Dancing in the tent

Here we are dancing in the dancing tent. What you can't see is all the worms that kept popping up between the boards. Being the tender-hearted people that we are, everyone not dancing any dance was on worm-catching duty, and darted in whenever a worm was spotted, in order to carry it to safety.
Dancing outside the pub

The pub was the only place in the area with nice toilets, and fully out of the rain. We danced there a lot.
Playing on the seesaw

The pub also had a see-saw. Not that we would be so childish as to play on it, of course.
in the gazebo

We spent most of the weekend struggling to put up two gazebos and place them next to each other, as a Super Gazebo. Here we are on the last night, singing in it. Notice how we are dressed for the British summer.
